We had an amazing weekend down at Currumbin with two mind blowingly good shoots.

Both are under wraps until they're published but let's just say gorgeousness was everywhere - on the beach, the brilliant creative team, the gowns, the bling, the wedding styling, just about everything was so deliciously fantastic.

I can't wait to share.

The Wedding Alley Issue Three Out Now!

Okay it was a little while ago that it was released.  However we've been working on some great projects, and shot so much while we were in Europe that there has been so much to do. Loving every minute of it, but just not enough hours in the day.
We're over the moon to see the latest issue of The Wedding Alley packed with great photo shoots that we've thoroughly enjoyed working on.

It was such a pleasure to capture the beautiful jewellery, headpieces and stationery for LaPapeterie in one of the most beautiful places in the works - Paris. Yes - I'm in love with Paris, and everything French.

Then we worked with Karla from Blissful Makeup and Kallista from Beauty by Corinne on the makeup inspiration.  Our models looked good before they started, but sublime after.
The heavenly headpieces from When Freddie Met Lilly really are simply divine. Perfect for the most discerning bride.
There so much to see, so have a read and enjoy the visual feast.

Our new website advert - what do you think?

Here's a look at our latest website advert. We'd love to know what you think.

For me it's a beautiful combination of so many ideas. I love the fact that you can't see who the couple are, but I know. I know the wonderful day they celebrated together, and the wonderful moments that I was lucky enough to witness.

I also love the fact that this shot was taken in the UK. It doesn't scream British, but there are a few clues. It reminds me that weddings take place all over the world at different times and in lots of different ways. The common thread though is love, and that each couple is committing themselves to each other in front of their special people. It may only be a handful of guests, or it could be hundreds, but the objective is the same - to live together, happily ever after.

This photo also hints at the huge array of details that each couple deliberates over. Not just the dress and venues, but the little things like flowers, shoes and cars. We know so much thought has gone into so much of this day, from the seating plan, to the menu, the cake, and the choice of music for the first dance. Every small choice contributing in it's way to create your own unique day.

So here's to your happily ever after x

Storms Approaching

Well after yesterday and all of the alerts we know it's Queensland Storm season.  We were lucky yesterday and watched the storms go around us.  A little more rain would have been good, just to green up the grass for all of our upcoming weddings and photo shoots though.

Hearing the thunder and seeing the lightening reminds me of the power and beauty of nature.

Stay safe this storm season.

Sneak Peek at Sharn & Ben's Wedding

A beautiful Brisbane day greeted Sharn and Ben on their wedding day.  Such a fantastic day with a gorgeous couple.  We started at the Brisbane Riverview Hotel, with the ceremony at Broadway Chapel.  Then we were off for the photography session around Brisbane city.  A truly wonderful day.  Here's a sneak peek from the day.

Elizabeth deVarga Couture Bridal Collection 2013

Recently we attended and captured the stunning gowns of the Elizabeth deVarga Couture Bridal Collection for 2013.

The gowns looked exquisite on the catwalk, and the evening was filled with new brides admiring 'oohs' and 'aahhs' as the couture parade took their breath away.

Here's a glimpse into the evening, and a viewing of the gorgeous gowns as they graced the catwalk.

Many other suppliers contributed their services, and there were jammed packed gift bags given away, as well as a huge amount of lucky door prizes.  Many brides left with an armful of goodies.

Thanks to the contributors who helped make the evening such a success.

EShoot at Brisbane Powerhouse - Sharn + Ben

We have had an EShoot booked for quite a few weekends, and we decided to postpone on a number of occasions, just waiting for all of that rain to stop. Finally the sun came out, and we met up to capture a few images. I love shooting at the Brisbane Powerhouse and New Farm Park - so many choices and all within walking distance.  It was really busy on this Sunday due to the fine weather, however it was lovely to catch up with Sharn + Ben and find out how all the wedding preparations were going.

Now it's only a month until their wedding, I'm really looking forward to playing my part in the day. Countdown is on.

 

 

JK Couture at the Bayside Bridal Expo

JK Couture Designs featured their latest designs at The Bayside Bridal Expo held at the Wynnum RSL recently.

Joanne Hasson, the designer behind the label, exhibited a huge range, including her signature Bridal Collection through to mother of the bride / mother of the groom, bridesmaids gowns and a lovely flower girl dress.

Elegant Evening with Elizabeth de Varga

The Elizabeth de Varga 2013 Couture Bridal Collection Launch told place last week at their Beautiful Stones Corner location.

The gowns looked exquisite on the catwalk. The evening was well attended and a joy to capture.

What a busy weekend.  Yesterday Dave ran one of our one day photography courses, and today we were at Wynnum capturing a fashion parade featuring JK Couture Designs' latest collection.

Rain rain go away

So sick of this rain. So many projects on hold while we wait for good weather. Happily we have had a lot options for rescheduling. Only a couple of events have been actually effected, but really enough is enough. Some sunshine please.

Happy New Year!

Our first week back and it's been really busy.  The inbox is becoming a little more manageable and we have met up with some couples already.  We love the excitement and anticipation of the pre wedding planning, and then the contrast of reliving the day with couples as we choose images, layout, designs and put everything together.

We're looking forward to a great 2013.

Instagram Photo A Day

I do love Instagram. The instant way we can share an idea, feeling or just an image. I decided to do a photo a day after seeing many friends & people I follow do it. Being a photographer you'd think it would be easy. Big but here. Because I'm a photographer I tend to over analyse every shot. I'd like to be happy with every image, and being in busy wedding season, it has left little time to spare. I have given it a whirl though, and really enjoyed it.  The idea of making the everyday interesting to others is what really appealed to me.  Hope you like my look at life and what surrounds me.

Here's Day 10 - Can't live without {love}

I was going to use my daughter's hands, but it was past her bed time, so this is Dave's version of a heart.  It took a fair bit of maneuvering to get it right.

University of Queensland Wedding - Shelley & Adrian

What a stunning day Shelley and Adrian had at The University of Queensland, St Lucia.  The ceremony took place in the Alumni Court with the sun shining providing a lovely warmth, and the many family and friends attending added to this with their good humour and enjoyment of the day.

We took a leisurely stroll around the grounds for the photography session.  UQ's mix of stunning sandstone structures and beautiful landscapes around the lake combined for a fantastic range of images.

The reception took place in the Innes Room with lots of gorgeous special touches made by Shelley and Adrian (and I'm sure other helpers).  Actually I could do a huge blog entry on just them - so stay tuned.
