Our new website advert - what do you think?

Here's a look at our latest website advert. We'd love to know what you think.

For me it's a beautiful combination of so many ideas. I love the fact that you can't see who the couple are, but I know. I know the wonderful day they celebrated together, and the wonderful moments that I was lucky enough to witness.

I also love the fact that this shot was taken in the UK. It doesn't scream British, but there are a few clues. It reminds me that weddings take place all over the world at different times and in lots of different ways. The common thread though is love, and that each couple is committing themselves to each other in front of their special people. It may only be a handful of guests, or it could be hundreds, but the objective is the same - to live together, happily ever after.

This photo also hints at the huge array of details that each couple deliberates over. Not just the dress and venues, but the little things like flowers, shoes and cars. We know so much thought has gone into so much of this day, from the seating plan, to the menu, the cake, and the choice of music for the first dance. Every small choice contributing in it's way to create your own unique day.

So here's to your happily ever after x

Sneak Peek at Sharn & Ben's Wedding

A beautiful Brisbane day greeted Sharn and Ben on their wedding day.  Such a fantastic day with a gorgeous couple.  We started at the Brisbane Riverview Hotel, with the ceremony at Broadway Chapel.  Then we were off for the photography session around Brisbane city.  A truly wonderful day.  Here's a sneak peek from the day.

University of Queensland Wedding - Shelley & Adrian

What a stunning day Shelley and Adrian had at The University of Queensland, St Lucia.  The ceremony took place in the Alumni Court with the sun shining providing a lovely warmth, and the many family and friends attending added to this with their good humour and enjoyment of the day.

We took a leisurely stroll around the grounds for the photography session.  UQ's mix of stunning sandstone structures and beautiful landscapes around the lake combined for a fantastic range of images.

The reception took place in the Innes Room with lots of gorgeous special touches made by Shelley and Adrian (and I'm sure other helpers).  Actually I could do a huge blog entry on just them - so stay tuned.

A wonderful day with a beautiful couple.  Thanks for letting me share in your very special day.

Top Tips for Your Wedding - Who Pays for What?

Everyone is different. Who pays for what may be decided by your heritage, family circumstances, as well as your finances.  History may mean your family is willing to pay a certain budget, or for certain items.  If your sister had so much, you may expect the same.  It's very important to plan your budget right from the start.  This way you don't blow the budget before you have decided each element.

If you really want to follow Australian tradition the following is an excerpt from 'The Penguin Book of Etiquette' by Marion Von Adlerstein.

Timing Tips for your Wedding Photography

One of the important elements of your Wedding Photography is timing, and not all couples want the same thing. Depending on the number of locations and how far apart your locations are can play a vital role in enjoying your Photo Session, and getting the most out of your day.

Here are some important questions to contemplate:

How long do you want to spend doing your location photographs?
How far away are the ceremony and reception venues?
How much travel time do you need to allow?
Would you like to go to more than one location for your photos?
What time is sunset?
What time are you expected to enter at the reception?

It is really important to discuss your expectations and timings with your photographer.  The more your photographer understands about your day the more satisfied you will be.

Call us to discuss your Wedding Photography and Video requirements.  We love to assist in making your day the best it can be.

Awesome Slideshow

I love the images that Dave & I took of Michelle and Paul's Wedding.  We had a fantastic day with this couple, and they really committed to our photo session, and the proof is in the imagery. When I started the slideshow I thought there would be about a minute or two, but I really had a cull, and there are some gorgeous images that haven't been included.

Enjoy, and see how their day unfolded in all of it's beauty.

Kyra & Daniel's Wedding

Saturday 16th May saw a team of 4 (2 photographers and 2 videographers) head up to Toowoomba for Kyra & Daniel's Wedding. Despite few dramas in the week leading up to the ceremony, Kyra was totally relaxed on the day and looked stunning with hair by fabulously talented Wendy at Holistic Hair Circle and great makeup by Paige at Faces by Paige.

We did the pre-wedding footage at Kyra's parents' beautiful home and then headed up to Gips in Toowoomba for the ceremony and reception. Gips is a great location and after a lovely ceremony we headed off for some great photos around the town. With choosing an early ceremony (so important in the winter months)

Kyra & Daniel had loads of time to enjoy their photos, with plenty of time to relax and enjoy each other's company which we always feel is essential and so much more relaxing than dashing around madly from location to location. We went to the beautiful Laurel bank Park, then onto the Toowoomba railway station before finishing up at the Old Council Chambers for some twilight shots. Gips then put on a marvelous reception (excellent food as always!!) and Kyra & Daniel enjoyed a great evening with their guests. Another fantastic day for us.  Thanks to Kyra & Daniel for letting us be part of their day.
